L'empatia in psicoterapia: uno studio sulla formazione empatica nelle Scuole di Specializzazione del Veneto

This work is aimed at developing a general framework on the construct of empathy, articulating a discourse that is situated on two different levels: theory and clinical practice. In the first chapter the construct of empathy is outlined and deepened on the basis of some of the numerous theoretical and experimental models within the gnoseological framework of the psychological sciences, outlining the characteristics that this construct assumes in the context of theoretical reflection. Subsequently, an examination of the main psychological clinical models declines the construct of empathy in the operational context of the different therapeutic methodologies, ultimately clarifying the heterogeneity of the construct and favoring the emergence of any similarities or divergences, starting from the different ways in which empathy is currently (and has historically been) conceived and formalized. The text then develops a systematic review on the possibility of training and developing empathic skills in the medical and human sciences, with specific literature referring to the contents extrapolated from the web platforms of Scopus, PubMed and GoogleScolar. Finally, the fourth chapter opens to an experimental examination which has as its object the teaching of empathy in the training course in psychotherapy operated in the Veneto area. Through the formulation of a semi-administered interview to the Specialization Schools that have chosen to join the project, a reflection is developed on the main points and the most important components as well as on the transversal aspects in the formulation of the empathic interventions proposed by the Therapy Schools of the territory.

La direzione verso cui si rivolge il presente lavoro si propone di sviluppare un inquadramento generale sul costrutto di empatia, articolando un discorso che si situa su due piani differenti: la teoria e la pratica clinica. Nel primo capitolo viene delineato e approfondito il costrutto di empatia sulla base di alcuni dei numerosi modelli teorici e sperimentali entro la cornice gnoseologica delle scienze psicologiche, delineando le caratteristiche che tale costrutto assume nell'ambito della riflessione teorica. Successivamente, una disamina dei principali modelli clinici psicologici declina il costrutto di empatia nell'ambito operativo delle diverse metodologie terapeutiche, chiarendo in ultima analisi l'eterogeneità del costrutto e favorendo l'emersione di eventuali somiglianze o divergenze, a partire dalle differenti modalità in cui l'empatia viene attualmente (ed è stata storicamente) concepita e formalizzata. Nel testo viene sviluppata in seguito una revisione sistematica sulla possibilità di formazione e sviluppo delle capacità empatiche nelle scienze mediche e umane, con letteratura specifica di riferimento ai contenuti estrapolati dalle piattaforme web di Scopus, PubMed e GoogleScolar. Infine il quarto capitolo apre ad una disamina sperimentale che ha come oggetto l'insegnamento dell'empatia nel percorso di formazione in psicoterapia operata sul territorio del Veneto. Attraverso la formulazione di un'intervista semi-strutturata, somministrata alle Scuole di Specializzazione che hanno scelto di aderire al progetto, viene sviluppata una riflessione in merito ai punti nevralgici, alle componenti nucleari nonché agli aspetti trasversali nella formulazione degli interventi empatici proposti dalle Scuole di Psicoterapia del territorio.
