Interpersonal validazione del questionario Empathy Questionnaire: focus sulla validità di costruto indagata con questionari self-report

The scientific literature shows how the study of the construct of empathy has been investigated purely following an intrapersonal perspective, paying little attention, therefore, to the influence that another individual, in interaction, can implement for the manifestation of it. Starting from this observation, the need arose to structure a questionnaire that would investigate empathy from an interpersonal perspective, focusing on how much, for the development and understanding of the phenomenon, the presence of the other cannot be a component to be disregarded. On the basis of the tripartite model of empathy identified by Zaki J. and Ochsner K., which to date appears to be one of the most accredited since it is corroborated by confirmations in the neuroscientific field, and referring to the structure of the EU subscale of Barrett-Lennard's (1981) Relationship inventory, we constructed a dyadic interpersonal questionnaire, with the aim of studying and measuring empathy by following the interpersonal perspective of the construct and considering it as a phenomenon produced by dyadic interaction.

La letteratura scientifica mostra come lo studio del costrutto di empatia sia stato indagato prettamente seguendo un’ottica intrapersonale, prestando poca attenzione, dunque, alla influenza che un altro individuo, in interazione, possa attuare per la manifestazione di questa. Partendo da questa constatazione è nata l’esigenza di strutturare un questionario che indagasse l’empatia in ottica interpersonale, ponendo l’attenzione su quanto, per lo sviluppo e la comprensione del fenomeno, la presenza dell’altro non possa essere componente da non considerare. Sulla base del modello tripartito dell’empatia individuato da Zaki J. e Ochsner K., che ad oggi risulta essere uno dei più accreditati poiché avvalorato da conferme in ambito neuroscientifico, e facendo riferimento alla struttura della sottoscala EU del Relationship inventory di Barrett-Lennard (1981), abbiamo costruito un questionario diadico interpersonale, con l’obiettivo di studiare e misurare l’empatia seguendo l’ottica interpersonale del costrutto e considerandolo come fenomeno prodotto dall’interazione diadica.
