The thesis deals with a crucial topic: the evaluation of labour policy in Georgia over the last three decades in response to specific needs of the situation to ensure the welfare of labour. Furthermore, the analysis of the transition process will be helpful to see the whole picture – social, economic, and political development of the country, and have a better understanding of its reflection in the present. The paper closely examines the legislative framework since the Labour Code of Georgia, and its amendments led to controversial discussions in the country and the international community. The thesis aims to study the role of ILO. That will be done by exploring ILO’s recommendations, standards, and conventions ratified by Georgia. Particular emphasis is paid to theory and practice. Moreover, Association Agreement between the European Union and Georgia will be analysed. The objective of the paper is to review the formulation of the Labour Policy in Georgia in line with ILO, assess the outcome of the harmonisation process, and the existing implementation gaps. The study is developed with a specific focus on revealing employment trends and analysing the main long-term issues of the labour market. Hence, labour market regulation and function still represent one of the most pressing issues in Georgia.

Abstract
Hence, labour market regulation and function still represent one of the most pressing issues in Georgia.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
