Climate change is a crisis that has been with us for decades, however, not as long as Christianity has been with us. This thesis is exploring the relationship between Christianity and climate action - does religion play a role in voting for climate action and on climate-based policies? A focus has been taken on two forms of Christianity: Catholicism and Evangelicalism, in Midwest USA. The roles that religious institutions play in politics are well established. With climate change an ever-polarizing topic, the role religion plays in it is becoming more and more important to reverse climate change. However, the depth of that role can be called into question. Considering Christian principles and Midwest policy actions on climate change, the connection between climate action and Christianity fails in the competition against political ideology.
