This paper aims to investigate and analyse the main challenges that the right to Freedom of Expression is facing in the Digital we are all inserted in. Firstly, it will be analyzed de concept of Freedom of expression and its theories, which provides an explanation of why this has always been and, today, is still the primary political and democratic engagement tool. Afterwards, we will briefly overview the leading international legal instruments that regulate this right; then, examine the main issues and challenges that the Digital Age imposes on the right to freedom of expression, especially its democratic nuances, both globally and regionally. Finally, the paper will bring a comparative analysis of the international jurisprudence regarding such challenges
