Carbon-carbon bond forming reaction are of great importance in modern synthetic organic chemistry because they enable the assembly of key ingredients for synthesis and biology. Here, we present a novel approach to the construction of Csp3-Csp3 bonds using purely photo-organocatalysts based on 9,9-Dimethyl-9,10-dihydroacridine scaffolds exploiting proton-coupled electron transfer processes.
