The purpose of this dissertation is the creation of a termbase with the data that was collected during the translation from Italian to English of medical diagnoses. This dissertation is part of the Examode project about medical terminology. The dissertation presents a review on terminology and its applications in the medical field; subsequently, the use of translation softwares has been evaluated; therefore, the translation and data collection work has been analysed, also focusing on the challenges that the translation presented.
Il presente lavoro di tesi ha come obiettivo la creazione di una raccolta di dati terminologici a partire dalla traduzione di diagnosi mediche dalla lingua italiana alla lingua inglese, e rientra nell'ambito del progetto Examode sulla terminologia medica. A partire da un approfondimento sull'applicazione in ambito medico della terminologia e sull'uso delle schede e dei software di traduzione, è stato presentato il lavoro svolto di traduzione delle diagnosi e raccolta di dati terminologici, con un'analisi sulla risoluzione dei casi particolari riscontrati.
