Dal Free cinema alla Swinging London: Richard Lester e i Beatles

The thesis aims to explore two moments in british cinema, the new wave of Free cinema and the Swinging London wave. Then the two figures that inevitably influenced the two periods will be explored: Richard Lester and the Beatles. After explored the moment of transition from one new wave to the other, the paper will focus on the analysis of two films directed by Richard Lester and starring the english musical group: A Hard Day's Night (1964) and Help! (1965).

L'elaborato si pone l'obiettivo di approfondire due momenti del cinema inglese, il movimento del Free cinema e quello della Swinging London. Successivamente verranno approfondite le due figure che hanno inevitabilmente influenzato i due periodi: Richard Lester e i Beatles. Dopo aver approfondito il momento di passaggio da una corrente all'altra, l'elaborato si concentrerà sull'analisi di due film diretti da Richard Lester ed interpretati dal gruppo musicale inglese: A Hard Day's Night (1964) ed Help! (1965).
