Since the perspective and activities of the Italian anti-trafficking project are often overlooked in the national and international arena, I wanted to utilise this opportunity to give them a voice. Therefore, the following work represents a recollection of the measures and initiatives launched by the anti-trafficking body at which I did my curricular internship: the Rosemary Project. In the first chapter, a historiography of international instruments regarding the phenomena of trafficking in human beings and labour exploitation will be reported. This will be followed by an analysis of the European directives and policies and of the Italian laws (national and regional) that regulate these matters. In the second chapter, the history of the Rosemary Project will be illustrated: its foundation, activities, and how these have changed over the years to adapt to the reality of the territory. After that, the innovations introduced between 2021 and 2022 will be analysed. Studies and activities have in fact been undertaken to understand the phenomenon of labour exploitation contextualised in the territory of Reggio Emilia. Finally, in the third chapter, the findings of the research and activities carried out by the project will be presented. This analysis will also be accompanied by considerations for the future as well as critiques.
