The thesis is part of a series of activities aimed at validating a mathematical model in vivo and then on patient of aortic stenosis severity implementable in echodoppler, in particular the thesis deals with the evaluation of the instantaneous trend of the Effective Orifice Area (EOA) with particular attention to possible sources of error: the variability of the left ventricular outflow tract is considered in terms of time (systolic period of the cardiac cycle evaluating the diversity according to whether it is early-systolic, mid-systolic or tele-systolic), ellipticity and position (different positions used for measurement result in different EOA values). The evaluations are derived from measurements on five patients with congenital aortic stenosis.
