Sulla natura della risposta bifasica ERP alle violazioni sintattiche: il caso dell'accordo soggetto-verbo in italiano.

The present study aims to better clarify the nature of the ERP biphasic pattern LAN-P600 typically elicited by syntactic violations. The stability and reliability of this pattern across languages, structures and individuals has been largely debated in the literature. The issue will be here discussed both in relation with the relevant literature and by performing a new analysis of data collected on subject-verb violations in Italian. This multidisciplinary issue will require to consider linguistic differences among different types of violations and the specificity of subject-verb agreement, the psychophysiological models of the link between EEG components and cognitive processes and statistical methods aimed to test the stability across items and subjects of the effects.
