Urban neighbourhoods of historical industrial areas are testimonials of a declined development. The research inquires about the social relationship between industrial sites and the local community, analyzing the role of industrial heritage as a tool for the social transmission of memory and community building. The present work is based on an assessment of the Centrinno EU research project by taking Barcelona, one of the nine cities pilot, as a case study. The aim is to investigate how a research EU project can explore industrial sites' social and productive potential. This objective is pursued through a comparative qualitative analysis focusing on the relational and direct experiences of eight key stakeholders involved in the second out of three cycles of experimentation of the project. The study targets each selected actor's perspective to understand the project's complexity further. The analysis found analogies and contradictions between the conception and the perception of the project.

Abstract
The analysis found analogies and contradictions between the conception and the perception of the project.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
