L'anziano e il sistema detentivo: analisi e osservazione della crescita dei detenuti

The prison represents the total institution par excellence. To date, the legislation that regulates the prison system is based on the idea that the punishment must be re-educational and as such must be implemented through a series of activities and interventions aimed at the reintegration of the convict. However, there are subjects who present difficulties, and among these people there are also elderly prisoners. The latter are the most fragile subjects, both because they often suffer from disabling pathologies and because they do not have a family network available to welcome them. The objective of the following thesis is to analyze and understand a completely new theme, observing its trajectories and possible implications.

Il carcere rappresenta l'istituzione totale per eccellenza. Ad oggi la normativa che regola il sistema detentivo si fonda sull'idea che la pena debba essere rieducativa e in quanto tale deve attuarsi mediante una serie di attività e interventi finalizzati al reinserimento del condannato. Vi sono soggetti che presentano tuttavia delle difficoltà, e tra queste persone vi sono anche i detenuti anziani. Quest'ultimi sono i soggetti più fragili, sia perché spesso soffrono di patologie invalidanti, sia perché non hanno una rete famigliare disponibile ad accoglierli. L'obiettivo che si prefigge la seguente tesi è quello di analizzare e comprendere un tema del tutto nuovo, osservandone le traiettorie e i possibili risvolti.
