This brief presents the implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 (UNSCR 1325) in the context of the negotiation process of the Peace Agreements in Colombia (2012-2016). The foregoing intends to review the correlation between the violation of women's rights in the context of the armed conflict and the post-conflict scenario, given the fact that in the negotiation process, gender inequalities were even more visible. Therefore, it pretends to show that gender inequalities and violations of women’s rights reinforce women's exclusion in power scenarios and restrict women’s participation in high levels of the decision-making processes in Colombia. Finally, the ratio showed the importance of women's agenda and women's participation in which UNSCR 1325 (2000) was an important legal tool for women in Colombia which feminist movements and women’s social movements pressured the government to obtain a real space that allows women to participate in the decision-making process. All of this was possible due to the support of the UNSCR 1325, that in the context of the peace agreement in Colombia meant the implementation of gender mainstreaming and the creation of the Gender Subcommission.
