La formazione di base del fisioterapista in cure palliative: individuazione dei requisiti per la scelta delle sedi di tirocinio

Backgorund: Training in palliative care is a necessity in the Italian university panorama, which emerges from the increasingly present request for assistance in this specific health sector deriving from the growing aging of the population in recent decade. The law of 15 March 2010 n° 38, emphasizes the importance of palliative care in society, identifying the provisions to guarantee access to palliative care and pain therapy and the terms for organizing and updating of medical and healthcare personnel in the field of palliative care and pain management. Goals: This work arises from the need to give an answer to the directives provided by the working group identified by the Directorate General of the Ministry of Education in the field of training in palliative care issued in 2019, and has, as a purpose, to identify the fundamental requirements that the structures responsible for welcoming students for palliative care internship must respect. Materials and methods: To investigate what could be the basic requirements for providing high quality training in palliative care internship, a review of the existing literature and of the provisions issued by the Ministry of Education in the field of training in palliative care and a semi-structured interview was also proposed to some traineeship guides and students who carried out the traineeship in palliative care as a pilot project in the Physiotherapy Degree Course of the University of Padua in the AY. 2022/2023. Results: As a result of the work carried out, the checklist for assessing the adequacy of palliative care training locations was drawn up which identifies the basic requirements that training facilities must possess in order to provide high-level training and to become part of the reference network for training in palliative care of bachelor’s degree students in physiotherapy. The checklist has been drawn up considering the basic knowledge and skills that the students must acquire in his/her internship experience. Conclusions: Adequate planning of the internship in palliative care is the prerequisite for ensuring training in line with the educational requirements of the course of study. From an organizational point of view, the choice of internship locations represents the crucial point for the success of the practical experience for the student, the identification of specific requirements that the structures must comply in order to provide an adequate internship represents a fundamental tool for guaranteeing a quality education for students.

Background: La formazione in cure palliative rappresenta una necessità nel panorama universitario italiano, che emerge dalla sempre più presente richiesta assistenziale in questo particolare ambito sanitario derivante dal crescente invecchiamento della popolazione negli ultimi decenni. La legge 15 Marzo 2010 n° 38, pone l’accento sull’importanza delle cure palliative nella società, identificando le disposizioni per garantire l’accesso alle cure palliative e alla terapia del dolore e i termini per l’organizzazione della formazione e dell’aggiornamento del personale medico e sanitario in materia di cure palliative e di terapia del dolore. Obiettivi: Questo lavoro di tesi nasce dalla necessità di dare una risposta alle direttive fornite dal gruppo di lavoro individuato dalla Direzione Generale del Ministero dell’Istruzione in materia di formazione in cure palliative emanate nel 2019, ed ha, come scopo, quello di individuare i requisiti fondamentali che le strutture preposte all’accoglienza degli studenti per il tirocinio in cure palliative devono rispettare. Materiali e metodi: Per indagare quali potessero essere i requisiti di base per fornire una formazione di qualità elevata nell’ambito del tirocinio in cure palliative, è stata effettuata in primis una revisione della letteratura esistente e delle disposizioni emanate dal Ministero dell’Istruzione nell’ambito della formazione in cure palliative ed è stata inoltre proposta un’intervista di tipo semi-strutturato ad alcune guide di tirocinio e studenti che hanno svolto il tirocinio in cure palliative come progetto pilota nel Corso di laurea in Fisioterapia dell’Università di Padova nell’A.A. 2022/2023. Risultati: In seguito al lavoro svolto è stata stilata la check list per la valutazione dell’adeguatezza delle sedi di tirocinio in cure palliative, che individua i requisiti di base che le strutture di tirocinio devono possedere per fornire una formazione di alto livello e per entrare a far parte della rete di riferimento per il tirocinio in cure palliative degli studenti Corso di Laurea triennale in fisioterapia. La check list è stata stilata tenendo conto delle conoscenze e delle competenze di base che lo studente deve acquisire nella propria esperienza di tirocinio. Conclusioni: Un’adeguata programmazione del tirocinio in cure palliative rappresenta il presupposto per assicurare una formazione in linea con le richieste formative del percorso di studi. In un’ottica organizzativa, la scelta delle sedi di tirocinio rappresenta il punto cruciale della buona riuscita dell’esperienza pratica per lo studente, l’individuazione di specifici requisiti che le strutture devono rispettare per fornire un tirocinio adeguato rappresenta uno strumento fondamentale per garantire una formazione di qualità agli studenti.
