The purpose of this thesis is to optimize the photogrammetric approach for detecting sensor locations used in near-infrared spectroscopy and electroencephalography, which are noninvasive techniques that measure neuronal and hemodynamic activity in the brain. This study describes the importance of good sensor localization, using photogrammetric and digitalized approaches, and some of the issues not yet solved. Therefore, starting from a video recorded with an iPhone filming a 3D-printed head with sensor locations highlighted in color, virtual three-dimensional reconstructions were made using the Agisoft Metashape software, and varying the number of frames, in order to evaluate the minimum requirements of the video and obtain an accurate reconstruction. In addition, a graphical interface was developed on Matlab to enable the researcher using the photogrammetric approach to automatically identify the reconstructed position of the sensors with minimal effort. The interface contains five sliding bars, four of which are useful for more easily identifying optodes by manually changing the HSV scale color thresholds, and one for changing the threshold defining the size of a cluster of points.

Abstract
The interface contains five sliding bars, four of which are useful for more easily identifying optodes by manually changing the HSV scale color thresholds, and one for changing the threshold defining the size of a cluster of points.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
