However, natural gas prices have been fluctuating in recent years, with significant consequences on users' wallets. The thesis aims to analyze the relationship between Italian families' gas consumption and the price of natural gas. The first chapter provides an introduction to the gas market, historical trends in domestic gas consumption, and the factors that influence fuel consumption. The second chapter focuses on the price of gas, including an explanation of the differences between the regulated and free markets, historical trends in gas prices, and a comparison of gas consumption and price trends. The analysis aims to identify any relationships between gas prices and family energy consumption.

Il costo del riscaldamento rappresenta una spesa significativa per le famiglie italiane, con il gas naturale che rappresenta la fonte di energia più comune. Tuttavia, i prezzi del gas naturale hanno subito fluttuazioni significative negli ultimi anni, con conseguenze importanti sul portafoglio degli utenti. L'obiettivo di questa tesi è analizzare la relazione tra il consumo di gas delle famiglie italiane e il prezzo del gas naturale. Il primo capitolo fornisce un'introduzione al mercato del gas, alle tendenze storiche del consumo nazionale di gas e ai fattori che influenzano il consumo di carburante. Il secondo capitolo si concentra sul prezzo del gas, inclusa un'illustrazione delle differenze tra i mercati regolamentati e quelli liberi, le tendenze storiche dei prezzi del gas e un confronto tra le tendenze di consumo e di prezzo del gas. L'analisi mira a identificare eventuali relazioni tra il prezzo del gas e il consumo energetico delle famiglie.
