This study examines the practice of using MT tools for legal translation training didactics in order to evaluate the research behaviour of students tasked with post-editing and compare it with the research pattern of students translating from-scratch. The analysis focuses on the use of dictionaries, both bilingual and monolingual, general and specialised, to possibly determine if and to what extent the presence of a pre-translated text influences the student’s research behaviour and leads to any particular tendencies and differences between the two groups, with regards to types of dictionaries used, search time, and research pattern.

Abstract
This study examines the practice of using MT tools for legal translation training didactics in order to evaluate the research behaviour of students tasked with post-editing and compare it with the research pattern of students translating from-scratch. The analysis focuses on the use of dictionaries, both bilingual and monolingual, general and specialised, to possibly determine if and to what extent the presence of a pre-translated text influences the student’s research behaviour and leads to any particular tendencies and differences between the two groups, with regards to types of dictionaries used, search time, and research pattern.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
