Between 26 and 30 October 2018, Storm Vaia caused serious damage in Europe and Italy, especially in the North-East of the peninsula. The Veneto region has been one of the most affected territories. Within its borders, in the Unione Montana Agordina, a high number of tree individuals have been recorded crashed, in particular specimens of spruce. These events acted as a trigger for the growth of an insect, the bostric that reached the epidemic state in the spruce woods. The landscape has therefore undergone important changes and this study aims to highlight how much the damaged areas are identifiable through visibility analysis. In this work the forest particles in which they are present at the same time have been identified: areas disturbed by the storm Vaia or the bostric; surfaces subject to landscape constraints of the first type present in the Unione Montana Agordina; spruce woods. Having obtained this information, a statistical analysis was carried out on the mass of spruce present in these areas. The final information can be used as a decision basis to define the operations to be performed for the purpose of landscape management.
Tra il 26 e il 30 ottobre 2018 la tempesta Vaia ha provocato seri danni in Europa e in Italia, soprattutto nel Nord-Est della penisola. La regione Veneto è stata uno dei territori più colpiti. All’interno dei suoi confini, nell’Unione Montana Agordina, è stato registrato un alto numero di individui arborei schiantati, in particolare esemplari di abete rosso. Questi eventi hanno funto da innesco per la crescita di un insetto, il bostrico che ha raggiunto lo stato epidemico nei boschi di abete rosso. Il paesaggio ha dunque subito delle importanti modifiche e questo studio ha l’obiettivo di evidenziare quanto le aree danneggiate siano identificabili attraverso le analisi di visibilità. In questo lavoro sono state individuate le particelle forestali in cui sono presenti contemporaneamente: aree disturbate dalla tempesta Vaia o dal bostrico; superfici soggette a vincoli paesaggistici del primo tipo presenti nell’Unione Montana Agordina; boschi di abete rosso. Ottenute queste informazioni si è svolta un’analisi statistica inerente alla massa di abete rosso presente nelle suddette aree. Le informazioni finali possono essere utilizzate come base decisionale per definire le operazioni da compiere ai fini della gestione del paesaggio.
