THE ROLE OF CIVIL SOCIETY IN PEACE NEGOTIATIONS IN TURKEY: AN ANALYSIS OF THE 2013 WISE PEOPLE'S COMMITTEE REPORTS

In the realm of peacebuilding and conflict resolution, civil society has emerged as a critical actor, playing an instrumental role in fostering sustainable peace processes around the world. This study explores the multifaceted contributions of civil society in the pursuit of peaceful resolutions to conflicts, highlighting their unique capabilities, challenges, and overall significance in shaping a stable in Turkish society. Since the civil society initiative, embodied as the Wise People's Delegation, is an important factor in revealing the needs of the peace agenda in Turkey, the observations of the delegation and the reports it has produced as a result of its fieldwork constitute the basic content of the study. The demands submitted to the delegation were subjected to qualitative content analysis and it was examined whether the findings coincided with the course of the process.
