This thesis will discuss the disappointing reality of 'economic migrants' from Pakistan, Egypt, and Tunisia in Europe, but also possibly the UK. As they are rarely allowed to enter the territory of any European countries in order to find a job, and then apply for a work visa, they mostly opt for 'crossing the borders illegally' and then apply for asylum afterwards. However, as people fleeing from these territories are fleeing poverty, and inhumane standards of living, they do not fit in the definition of a refugee, and so their asylum claims are often rejected. Therefore, this thesis tries to provide the overview of the general situation, and ultimately certain solutions that could contribute to extending international protection to cases like this as well.

Abstract
This thesis will discuss the disappointing reality of 'economic migrants' from Pakistan, Egypt, and Tunisia in Europe, but also possibly the UK. As they are rarely allowed to enter the territory of any European countries in order to find a job, and then apply for a work visa, they mostly opt for 'crossing the borders illegally' and then apply for asylum afterwards. However, as people fleeing from these territories are fleeing poverty, and inhumane standards of living, they do not fit in the definition of a refugee, and so their asylum claims are often rejected. Therefore, this thesis tries to provide the overview of the general situation, and ultimately certain solutions that could contribute to extending international protection to cases like this as well.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
