The concept of community school has recently gained importance in today’s education. Unlike alternative school or progressive school that emphasises innovative pedagogical approaches or methods, community school describes the importance to see the institution as a whole community that involves multiple local stakeholders in its survival; local, as community schools should be rooted and synergised with their local environment. Community school might be a fresh concept, especially in Indonesia, however, understanding its philosophy and mechanism could be important, as it could further inspire innovative practices to improve education based on the local strengths. This is an ethnographic writing of my experience at the 'international' community school of Green School Bali, a school that is selected as the ‘Schools of The Future’ by the World Economic Forum. The writing aims to discuss what makes Green School Bali a school of the community that acts as a centre of local community transformation regardless of its international recognition.

Abstract
The writing aims to discuss what makes Green School Bali a school of the community that acts as a centre of local community transformation regardless of its international recognition.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
