La guerra civile nel vicentino nord-occidentale. Stragi ed eccidi dalla val Chiampo alla val d'Astico (1943-1945)

The province of Vicenza and its foothills in particular were the scene of many clashes between the forces of the partisans and the Nazi-fascist occupiers between 1943 and 1945. This period brought with it an enormous number of reprisals and massacres for the purpose of this conflict and, by going over them, many patterns of operation and triggering causes can be identified. In particular, the episode of the roundup of the Chiampo valley, which took place in July 1944, is investigated, a case often overshadowed by the great massacres of that period but which very well outlines the action and brutality of both German and Italian forces.

La provincia di Vicenza ed in particolare la sua fascia pedemontana sono state teatro di molti scontri tra le forze dei partigiani e degli occupanti nazifascisti tra il 1943 e il 1945. Questo periodo ha portato con se un numero enorme di rappresaglie e di stragi ai fini di tale conflitto e, ripercorrendole, si possono individuare molti schemi d'operazione e cause scatenanti. In particolare viene indagato l'episodio del rastrellamento della valle del Chiampo, avvenuto nel luglio 1944, un caso spesso passato in secondo piano rispetto ai grandi eccidi di quel periodo ma che delinea molto bene l'agire e la brutalità delle forze sia tedesche che italiane.
