The aim of this thesis, carried out in collaboration with Danieli, was to evaluate the technical feasibility of regenerating the internal surfaces of exerted moulds using two different thermal spray technologies: cold spray and High Velocity Oxygen fuel (HVOF). Comparison of the two technologies was conducted by microstructural and mechanical property characterization of the coatings.
L'elaborato di tesi, eseguito in collaborazione con Danieli, si pone l’obiettivo di valutare la fattibilità tecnica di rigenerare le superfici interne di cristallizzatori eserciti tramite due differenti tecnologie thermal spray: cold spray e High Velocity Oxygen fuel (HVOF). La comparazione delle due tecnologie è stata condotta tramite una caratterizzazione microstrutturale e delle proprietà meccaniche dei rivestimenti.
