Abstract

The industrial transition to Industry 4.0, characterized by big data, artificial intelligence, IoT, and automation, goes beyond just technology improvement. This shift will impact corporate strategies and national economic policies. IoT integration is set to revolutionize cold chain logistics, enabling the establishment of a comprehensive traceability system within logistics. The study provides an overview of technologies applied in monitoring and controlling perishable product temperatures within the cold chain. The aim is to identify current technology trends that can completely optimize cold chain processes, reducing costs, saving time, and minimizing food wasteg. This work investigates the effectiveness of IoT-based cold chain monitoring systems in enhancing the quality, safety, and efficiency of perishable goods’ transportation and storage. By posing the query, "How does the integration of IoT technology enhance cold chain monitoring efficiency and reliability, and what are the challenges and opportunities across industries?".The research also delves into the Internet of Energy (IoE), which drives the shift of cold chain logistics towards renewable and distributed green transportation. This transition involves using new distributed energy cold chain containers as the main infrastructure. With the growing global demand for clean energy due to population growth and economic expansion, this study underscores the necessity for inventive systems in energy production, distribution, and usage. It explores how the Internet of Energy (IoE) revolutionizes how we generate, distribute, and consume energy, focusing on IoT’s ability to facilitate smart and distributed power generation.
