The thesis addresses the theme of escalation within conflicts. In a context like the current one, characterized by the danger of nuclear weapons, it is necessary to ask ourselves how to defuse this escalation process whose consequences could be apocalyptic.

The starting point is the theory of mimetic conflict developed by René Girard, according to which the mechanism of reciprocity of attack and defense leads every conflict to degenerate into extreme violence.
