The thesis plans to model and evaluate the press fit effect of a femoral stem used during total hip replacement surgery. After having segmented a femoral bone taken from a patient's TAC scan with the 3D Slicer software, I developed the geometry of the stem and the various interactions between the prosthetic component and the bone with the Abaqus software in order to obtain a finite element analysis.
La tesi prevede di modellare e valutare l'effetto press fit di uno stelo femorale utilizzato durante gli interventi di protesi totale d'anca. Dopo aver segmentato con il software 3D Slicer un osso femorale preso da una tac di un paziente ho sviluppato la geometria dello stelo e le varie interaction tra la componente protesica e l'osso con il software Abaqus al fine di ottenere una analisi agli elementi finiti.
