«La poesia è verità». Nelo Risi, dagli esordi agli anni Sessanta

The poetry of Nelo Risi has been considerably studied in the developments that it had in the seventies from the collection Di certe cose (1970). This paper investigates the previous phases of Risi’s poetry, dealing in detail the major books of the fifties and sixties: Polso teso (1956), Pensieri elementari (1961) and Dentro la sostanza (1965). The macrotext, the themes and the metric-linguistic aspect of each of these collections were examinated. While the analysis of the poems has revealed the civil vocation of Risi’s poetry, on the other hand, the compositions have also revealed a "minor" Risi that hides the intimate sentimentality, the exotic, the eccentric and the vitality. This paper also explores the evolutionary process of the Risian poetic language: from the poems of Polso teso, still compromised with classicism, Risi’s poetry goes through the sixties approaching prose and reality, but always keeping active the pleasure for the rhythm of the verse, in a training path that prepares the poet to his most mature collections.

La poesia di Nelo Risi è stata considerevolmente studiata negli sviluppi che ha avuto negli anni Settanta a partire dalla raccolta Di certe cose (1970). Questo elaborato investiga invece le fasi precedenti della poesia di Risi, trattando in dettaglio, ma senza limitarsi a quelli, i libri maggiori degli anni Cinquanta e Sessanta: Polso teso (1956), Pensieri elementari (1961) e Dentro la sostanza (1965). Di ognuna di queste raccolte è stato indagato il macrotesto, con le annesse questioni filologiche, sono stati approfonditi i temi ed è stato vagliato l’aspetto metrico-linguistico. Se da un lato l’analisi dei testi poetici ha rilevato la vocazione civile della poesia di Risi, dall’altro dai componimenti è emerso anche un Risi “minore” che nasconde tra le sue pagine l’intima sentimentalità, l’esotico, l’eccentrico, la vitalità. Oltre alla puntuale descrizione di ogni raccolta, l'elaborato ha l'intenzione di tracciare la linea evolutiva della lingua poetica risiana: dalle prove di Polso teso, ancora compromesse con la classicità, la poesia di Risi attraversa gli anni Sessanta approssimandosi alla prosa e alla realtà, mantenendo però sempre attivo il piacere per il ritmo del verso, in un percorso di formazione che prepara il poeta alle sue prove più mature.
