Sola Fide. La comunità della Chiesa Metodista di Padova: una storia orale.

The thesis, entitled Sola Fide. The community of the Methodist Church of Padua: an oral history, aims to study the history and events of the community of the Methodist Church of Padua through oral history. Through interviews with the most active members and those who play key roles within the Church, the aim is to answer a number of questions. The main questions concern the reasons that led the members of the community to choose the Methodist Church, how the internal organisation is set up, what relations with other religions, what battles the Church has to fight and what the relationship with faith and spirituality outside the religious context can be for the members of a Protestant Church. The events that affected the members, their life experiences and their impressions of the moments that characterised the life of the Church will be reconstructed. This will be combined with a brief introduction on the history of the Methodist Church, given instead by some specific texts on the subject. The final objective will be to offer a picture of the Methodist Church of Padua as it is lived, a story from inside the community, based on the stories of the members themselves.

La tesi, dal titolo Sola Fide. La comunità della Chiesa Metodista di Padova: una storia orale, si propone di studiare la storia e le vicende della comunità della Chiesa Metodista di Padova tramite la storia orale. Mediante interviste ai membri più attivi e a coloro che svolgono ruoli all'interno della Chiesa, l'obiettivo è di rispondere ad alcune domande. Le principali domande riguardano i motivi che hanno portato i membri della comunità a scegliere la Chiesa Metodista, come viene costituita l’organizzazione interna, quali i rapporti con altre religioni, quali battaglie si trova a combattere la Chiesa e quale possa essere, per i membri di una Chiesa protestante, il rapporto con la fede e la spiritualità al di fuori del contesto religioso. Verranno dunque ricostruite le vicende che hanno interessato i membri, le loro esperienze di vita e le loro impressioni circa i momenti che hanno caratterizzato la vita della Chiesa. A questo si abbinerà una breve introduzione sulla storia della Chiesa Metodista, data invece da alcuni testi specifici sull'argomento. Obiettivo finale sarà quello di offrire un’immagine della Chiesa Metodista di Padova per come viene vissuta, una storia dall’interno della comunità, basata sui racconti degli stessi membri.
