Costantino Saccardino. Un ciarlatano seicentesco tra storia e storiografia

The thesis focuses on the life and historiography concerning Costantino Saccardino, a charlatan who lived between Venice, Florence and Bologna at the beginning of the 17th century. In particular, the first part focuses on the reconstruction of his life from existing sources, despite the difficulties in finding certain information starting from the research already carried out and from archive sources. The second chapter instead focuses on the relationships between Saccardino and the culture of his era, both academic and popular, and how different influences are present in the book that he published in Bologna.

La tesi si concentra sulla vita e la storiografia riguardanti Costantino Saccardino, ciarlatano vissuto tra Venezia, Firenze e Bologna agli inizi del XVII secolo. In particolare, la prima parte si concentra sulla ricostruzione dalle fonti esistenti della sua vita, nonostante le difficoltà a reperire informazioni certe a partire dalle ricerche già svolte e dalle fonti di archivio. Il secondo capitolo si concentra invece sui rapporti fra il Saccardino e la cultura della sua epoca, sia accademica che popolare, e di come diverse influenze siano presenti nel libro che egli fece pubblicare a Bologna.
