This study examines a unique solution to financing ecosystem services and managing congestion through parking fees as the measure in Cansiglio forest, Italy. The study emphasizes the importance of ecosystem valuation in urban planning and proposes a methodology for determining parking fees based on the non-market value of ecosystem services. The study discusses how the revenue generated from parking fees can be used to finance ecosystem services and to promote sustainable development. The study draws on empirical evidence from online surveys and interviews with stakeholders to analyze the potential benefits of this approach, including reduced traffic congestion and enhanced ecosystem services. Overall, this study contributes to the understanding of how ecosystem valuation and financing can be used to manage traffic congestion and promote sustainable urban development in forested areas.
