The role of integration of migrants in the European Union through active citizenship and good practices: an analysis of the Must-A-Lab and the LICEAL projects by FREREF

This thesis analyses the impact that migrants’ integration and inclusion has on the European policy making system and what examples of actions have already been taken to try and change the current system. In order to quantify this impact, the attention will be placed on the existing European framework already in place. Plus, an additional analysis will be conducted on three countries (Italy, France, and Austria) to see where they stand in the process of integration. On the contrary, the analysis of the action plans that could improve the level of migrants’ inclusion will be conducted through the examination of two European project dealing with active citizenship and the process of sharing good practices. The aim is to provide an exhaustive picture of the two projects and the outcomes they have produced so far, so that it will be possible to draft a prediction of the final impact that they will produce. I hope that this will help understand if the solutions adopted in the projects can be applied in the future for other relevant issues.
