Overview: IVG is a much discussed and sensitive issue that has found over the years, and still does, wide debate in the global arena. This is undoubtedly due to, the views on the issue that see a deep connection with religious, ethical, cultural and political beliefs.IVG policies, in fact, are very different worldwide, from country to country. Making use of the Global Abortion Policies Database (WHO), one observes the distinction of these countries based on the policies they have adopted in the area of IVG, identifying countries that freely allow access to the intervention; countries that restrict access; and countries where the intervention is categorically banned, even in the case of health/life detriment to the woman. Law 194 of May 22, 1978 is the reference law as well as the main legislative instrument in the field of IVG.It is analyzed annually through a report carried out by the Ministry of Health to Parliament, in which changes and trends over time with respect to the issue of abortion are monitored, reporting anagraphical data of the population of interest and proposals for new goals and objectives to be pursued. In the MS Report transmitted to Parliament in 2022, it emerges that IVG is a phenomenon that has been clearly decreasing over the years throughout the country, with regard to both Italian and foreign women; however, the latter have a tendency to use IVG three times more than Italian women. Aim: To observe data on IVG interventions performed in AULSS 1 Dolomiti, among women of childbearing age of both Italian and foreign nationality. From the data it was possible to deduce a higher percentage of foreign women who resort to IVG, compared to Italian women, so the research was focused on a survey of the demographic characteristics (marital status, schooling, etc.) of foreign women, thus allowing a categorization from which insights can be drawn for the design of possible future interventions, aimed at the focused categories. Materials and Methods: The research was developed using a quantitative analysis, specifically through an analysis of the women's psycho-social and clinical file document (after requesting access to the data from the General Director of the Company and subject to clearance at the entrance of the facilities by the Hospital Director and the Director of the Consultatory), at the Medical Directorate of the Hospital of Feltre and at the Complex Operative Unit of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Hospital of Belluno and also in the Family Consultatories of Belluno and Feltre. Overall result: in 2018 in Belluno Province, the % of Italian women who resorted to IVG is about 4% while the % of foreign women is about 17%.In 2019, Italian women are 4%, foreign women are 11%.In 2021, Italian women are 3% while foreign women remain 11%. In 2022, Italian women are 3 percent while foreign women are 9 percent.Data analysis also highlighted the main characteristics of women who resort to IVG during 2018-22. Conclusions: The use of IVG in the period analyzed shows a slight decrease.Although the absolute number of IVGs of Italians is higher, the percentage of foreign women who use the intervention is higher. The research has therefore allowed us to focus the problem on a category of women, a figure that is, moreover, in line with the national one. Therefore, I believe that the Social Services still have wide room to establish interventions to support, from the social and health point of view, foreign women in order to make the path less painful through a multidisciplinary and and transversal (territory - Hospital) taking care of the woman by following her in the phase of choice, intervention and accompaniment in the post-intervention.
