This thesis aims to examine sustainable tourism in rural and inland areas through a series of case studies in the Piedmont region, Italy. The goal is to analyze how local communities have addressed challenges and capitalized on opportunities related to sustainable tourism, providing a comparative framework of different strategies employed. Through the analysis of these case studies, the aim is to identify best practices and draw valuable lessons to promote sustainable tourism development in these regions, thus contributing to a fairer and more environmentally friendly future for rural and inland areas in Piedmont.

Questa tesi si propone di esaminare il turismo sostenibile nelle aree rurali e interne attraverso una serie di casi studio nella regione del Piemonte, Italia. L'obiettivo è analizzare come le comunità locali abbiano affrontato le sfide e sfruttato le opportunità legate al turismo sostenibile, offrendo un quadro comparativo delle diverse strategie adottate. Attraverso l'analisi dei casi studio, si mira a identificare le migliori pratiche e a trarre lezioni utili per promuovere uno sviluppo turistico sostenibile in queste regioni, contribuendo così a un futuro più equo ed ecologico per le aree rurali e interne del Piemonte.
