Il Musical di Rodgers & Hammerstein: analisi della produzione del duo di autori e corrispondenze con l'attività dei contemporanei Benj Pasek e Justin Paul

After offering a historical framework on Musicals in the first half of the 20th century, with the presentation of the main authors of the time, the paper aims to analyze, in particular, the collaboration between the composer Richard Rodgers and the lyricist Oscar Hammerstein II, a famous duo of authors who produced some of the most famous Broadway musicals during the Golden Age of the genre (1940s - 1950s). In addition, it is intended to propose a parallelism between the work of Rodgers and Hammerstein and that of a contemporary duo of composers and lyricists: the Americans Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

Dopo aver offerto una cornice storica sul Musical della prima metà del Novecento, con la presentazione dei principali autori dell'epoca, l'elaborato ha lo scopo di analizzare, in particolare, la collaborazione tra il compositore Richard Rodgers e il paroliere Oscar Hammerstein II, celebre duo di autori che ha realizzato alcuni dei più famosi musical di Broadway durante l'età d'oro del genere (anni Quaranta - Cinquanta). Inoltre, si vuole proporre un parallelismo tra l'attività di Rodgers e Hammerstein e quella di un duo contemporaneo di compositori e parolieri: gli statunitensi Benj Pasek e Justin Paul.
