In this paper, finite element studies, analytical models, 3-D models and finally experimental measurements are compared in order to characterize the currents induced in permanent magnets and the losses these currents cause. The samples studied are NdFeB magnets. The experiment will consist of thermally insulating the magnet and then subjecting it to magnetic fields to measure how long it takes to reach a certain temperature, which gives us a measure of the power generated by the induced currents.

Abstract
In this paper, finite element studies, analytical models, 3-D models and finally experimental measurements are compared in order to characterize the currents induced in permanent magnets and the losses these currents cause. The samples studied are NdFeB magnets. The experiment will consist of thermally insulating the magnet and then subjecting it to magnetic fields to measure how long it takes to reach a certain temperature, which gives us a measure of the power generated by the induced currents.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
