This thesis will focus on the study of multi-phase motors, specifically double three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motors (SPM). This is because multi-phase motors exhibit a favorable characteristic that enables them to counteract potential faults. The analysis will involve the extended Clarke transform applied to this type of motor, followed by a description of Vector Space Demodulation (VSD). Subsequently, a Simulink model of the motor and a speed control scheme will be described. The behavior of the motor under open-circuit faults during speed control will be analyzed, and active and passive fault control strategies will be investigated. Finally, practical results obtained from the literature will be presented, and a comparison between theoretical and real-world results will be made.

Abstract
This thesis will focus on the study of multi-phase motors, specifically double three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motors (SPM). This is because multi-phase motors exhibit a favorable characteristic that enables them to counteract potential faults. The analysis will involve the extended Clarke transform applied to this type of motor, followed by a description of Vector Space Demodulation (VSD). Subsequently, a Simulink model of the motor and a speed control scheme will be described. The behavior of the motor under open-circuit faults during speed control will be analyzed, and active and passive fault control strategies will be investigated. Finally, practical results obtained from the literature will be presented, and a comparison between theoretical and real-world results will be made.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
