This project aims to develop an application to enhance the handwriting skills of young children, we seek to address the critical need for early interventions in handwriting difficulties, which affect a significant portion of the school-aged population. Handwriting performance evaluation will be facilitated through a handwriting sonification app featuring dynamic animations, real-time sonification, and kinematics data collection via digital pens and tablets. Drawing from the insight that sound's temporal nature provides an effective means to communicate dynamic information, sonification offers a promising avenue to aid handwriting improvement The aim of this study is to evaluate handwriting performance by exploring different sounds derived from various parameters and acoustic properties used in sonification. We executed a pilot study with consenting adults to assess their responses to these sounds while learning handwriting, testing the compliance of the requirements and the usability of the application and associated activities. Our goal was to identify the most effective version of our application in supporting handwriting acquisition skills. We achieved this by having participants test different versions of our application and providing feedback through structured questions. Through the integration of sonification techniques into handwriting training, we aim to provide a novel and engaging approach to support children's handwriting development.
