The objective of the current MA thesis is to analyze, and subsequently identify adaptations to, the protection of the RFX Consortium of Padua against atmospheric discharges, such as lightning. As such, it seeks to ensure the safety of the consortium's structures, equipment and, most importantly, staff during extreme weather events. The thesis opens with a detailed risk analysis, identifying the areas most at risk during atmospheric discharges, and evaluating the potential damage that lightning could cause. Based on these insights, the second part of this research outlines potential adaptations to the current protective system, including the installation of lightning rods, earth conductors and discharge dispersion systems. All suggested adaptations comply with relevant laws and regulations regarding the protection against atmospheric discharges.

Abstract
All suggested adaptations comply with relevant laws and regulations regarding the protection against atmospheric discharges.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
