This thesis delves into the phenomenon of cine-tourism in Sardinia, focusing specifically on the case study of Disney's live-action adaptation of "The Little Mermaid." Cine-tourism has become a significant driver of travel to destinations featured in films. Through an in-depth analysis of the impact of "The Little Mermaid" on tourism in Sardinia, this study examines the various dimensions of cine-tourism, including its economic, social, and cultural implications. Using qualitative research methods such as content analysis, the thesis explores the motivations of tourists visiting locations inspired by films, the socioeconomic benefits and challenges experienced by local communities, and the preservation of cultural heritage in the face of cinematic representation. Ultimately, this research contributes to a deeper understanding of the dynamics between cinema, tourism, and destination management, offering insights for both academic research and practical considerations in cultural tourism development.
Questa tesi approfondisce il fenomeno del cineturismo in Sardegna, concentrandosi specificamente sul caso studio del live-action de "La Sirenetta" della Disney. Il cineturismo, è diventato un importante motore di viaggi verso destinazioni riportate nei film. Attraverso un'analisi approfondita dell'impatto de "La Sirenetta" sul turismo in Sardegna, questo studio esamina le varie dimensioni del cineturismo, inclusi i suoi risvolti economici, sociali e culturali. Utilizzando metodi di ricerca qualitativa analisi del contenuto, la tesi esplora le motivazioni dei turisti che visitano i territori ispirati dai film, i benefici e le sfide socioeconomiche vissute dalle comunità locali, e la conservazione del patrimonio culturale di fronte alla rappresentazione cinematografica. In definitiva, questa ricerca contribuisce a una comprensione più profonda delle dinamiche tra cinema, turismo e gestione delle destinazioni, offrendo spunti sia per la ricerca accademica sia per considerazioni pratiche nelle politiche di sviluppo del turismo culturale.
