The bacterial membrane vesicles (BMVs) are bilayered micro- to nanoscale spherical structures that are produced by Prokaryotic cells. In particular, they contain cytoplasmic and periplasmic components and are used as a means of bacterial communication, for the development of biofilms and the spread of antibiotics and defense factors. This thesis aims to set an isolation protocol of the bacterial membrane vesicles (BMVs) to study the immune modulation effects of Pseudomonas aeruginosa’s vesicles on immune cells, such as macrophages, towards a pro-inflammatory or anti-inflammatory phenotype.

Abstract
The bacterial membrane vesicles (BMVs) are bilayered micro- to nanoscale spherical structures that are produced by Prokaryotic cells. In particular, they contain cytoplasmic and periplasmic components and are used as a means of bacterial communication, for the development of biofilms and the spread of antibiotics and defense factors. This thesis aims to set an isolation protocol of the bacterial membrane vesicles (BMVs) to study the immune modulation effects of Pseudomonas aeruginosa’s vesicles on immune cells, such as macrophages, towards a pro-inflammatory or anti-inflammatory phenotype.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
