L'"Antecrist" anonimo del manoscritto Paris, Bibliothèque de l'Arsenal, français 3645.

In the present work we propose a revised edition, with translation, of the anonymous poem on the Antichrist in Old French, contained in folios 4 r - 24 r of the manuscript Paris, Bibl. De l'Arsenal, français 3645 (ant. 306), a codex from the first half of the 14th century; the text presents in the explicit the indication of the year and place of composition: 1251, "in contrata de Monteculis de Verona". The critical text of the work had already been published in 1928 by E. Walberg, whose work has been taken as a point of reference for the present edition. Compared to the operation performed by the previous editor, who maintained the author's French origin, an attempt has been made to give greater prominence in the analysis of the text to those linguistic traits that would instead suggest an Italian origin, thus arriving at the conclusion that the work, although written in good French, can rightly be considered part of the Franco-Italian corpus.

Nel presente lavoro si propone un’edizione rivista, con traduzione, del poemetto anonimo sull’Anticristo in francese antico, contenuto nelle carte 4 r – 24 r del manoscritto Paris, Bibl. De l’Arsenal, français 3645 (ant. 306), codice della prima metà del XIV secolo; il testo presenta nell’explicit l’indicazione dell’anno e del luogo di composizione: 1251, «in contrata de Monteculis de Verona». Il testo critico dell’opera era già stato pubblicato nel 1928 da E. Walberg, il cui lavoro è stato preso come punto di riferimento per la presente edizione. Rispetto all’operazione compiuta dal precedente editore, il quale sosteneva l’origine francese dell’autore, si è cercato di dare nell’analisi del testo un maggior risalto a quei tratti linguistici che ne suggerirebbero invece un’origine italiana, arrivando così alla conclusione che l’opera, per quanto scritta in buon francese, possa a buon diritto essere considerata parte del corpus franco-italiano.
