In many urban areas of the Philippines, transportation infrastructure and policies rarely emphasize the gendered dimensions of mobility. This study delves into the complex relationship between gender, digital communities, and urban transportation. Guided by the core question: "How does the “Pinay Bike Commuter Community” Facebook group facilitate the exchange of information, experiences, and strategies among its members to navigate the transport crisis in urban areas of the Philippines, and what insights does this provide for fostering sustainable and inclusive transportation options?”. This research draws from feminist geography and intersectionality theory to investigate the real-life experiences of female commuters in a male-dominated society and gain insights into the relationship between digital communities and transportation. Furthermore, this study addresses the gap in the existing literature by focusing on the specificities of the geographical context of gender and mobility in the Philippines. The research also contributes to understanding how digital communities influence transportation policies and behaviors, hence informing the development of more inclusive and sustainable transportation options.
