This paper examines the transmedia modality of a research-action programme supported by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in France, entitled MediaNum, to discover the principle of transmedia storytelling in the field of cultural heritage and its potential in the enhancement of the first modern drinking water plant in China, that of Yangshupu in Shanghai. By analysing the specific cases of the programme and the historical sources of the industrial site, the study shows the flexibility and adaptability of transmedia storytelling in heritage enhancement. In the case of the Yangshupu factory, this flexibility can overcome the problem of the site's inaccessibility and the shortcomings of existing narrative strategies by creating an immersive experience that allows the public to fully discover the historical, socio-economic and technical values of the factory, thus contributing to the enhancement of the site within the current political framework of urban regeneration.

Abstract
This paper examines the transmedia modality of a research-action programme supported by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in France, entitled MediaNum, to discover the principle of transmedia storytelling in the field of cultural heritage and its potential in the enhancement of the first modern drinking water plant in China, that of Yangshupu in Shanghai. By analysing the specific cases of the programme and the historical sources of the industrial site, the study shows the flexibility and adaptability of transmedia storytelling in heritage enhancement. In the case of the Yangshupu factory, this flexibility can overcome the problem of the site's inaccessibility and the shortcomings of existing narrative strategies by creating an immersive experience that allows the public to fully discover the historical, socio-economic and technical values of the factory, thus contributing to the enhancement of the site within the current political framework of urban regeneration.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
