This thesis project investigates how morphosyntactic phenomena are related to pragmatics in preschool and school-age children with Primary Language Disorder (PDL) or Specific Learning Disorder (SAD). Difficulties for children with DPL and DSA can affect different areas of language such as vocabulary, syntax, morphology and pragmatics. In this paper, the narrative productions of 26 children aged 4 to 9 years diagnosed with DPL or DSA were analyzed. The productions were collected and analyzed through the use of the Multilingual Assessment Instrument for Narratives (MAIN, Gagarina et al., 2012; 2015), the Italian version of the MAIN (Levorato and Roch, 2020). The Italian MAIN was used in both the telling and retelling modes in order to investigate the number and type of morphosyntactic errors.
