This thesis explores the theory and practice of translating graphic novels, focusing on the graphic novel "El abismo del olvido" by Paco Roca. In the first part, a theoretical framework of the main translation theories applicable to this genre is outlined. The second part presents (side-by-side text) my Italian translation proposal of the novel in question. Finally, the third chapter discusses the specific problems encountered during the translation. This chapter offers a critical reflection on the decisions and solutions applied.
Questa tesi esplora la teoria e la pratica della traduzione dei romanzi grafici, focalizzandosi sul romanzo grafico "El abismo del olvido" di Paco Roca. Nella prima parte, viene delineato un quadro teorico delle principali teorie della traduzione applicabili a questo genere. La seconda parte presenta (testo a fronte) la mia proposta di traduzione del romanzo in questione. Infine, il terzo capitolo discute i problemi specifici incontrati durante la traduzione. Questo capitolo offre una riflessione critica sulle decisioni e le soluzioni applicate.
