Wolbachia are intracellular bacteria found in arthropods ,they are endosymbionts and are transmitted by host eggs . These do host manipulations like feminization , parthenogenesis ,male killing , cytoplasmic incompatibility .The European Cherry Fruit Fly Rhagoletis cerasi are infected with wCer2 strains of Wolbachia mainly in central and southern europe and are slowly spreading to the uninfected populations of Rhagoletis cerasi in the other parts of europe.
