Vibrations can have significant effects on human well-being, and this is also true for infants, who are particularly vulnerable to such stimuli. In the scientific and engineering fields, it is recognized that exposure to vibrations can negatively impact individual health, and the ISO 2631-1:1997 standard (“Evaluation of Human Exposure to Whole Body Vibration”) is a fundamental reference for the measurement and evaluation of whole-body vibrations in adults. This standard defines methods for quantifying the perception of vibrations in relation to human health and comfort. In the context of infant safety and well-being, it is essential to apply similar principles to assess how vibrations might affect the youngest individuals. Strollers are among the most common means of transporting infants. There is no exhaustive treatment in the literature regarding how and to what extent the vibrations transmitted by strollers during transportation may affect a child’s well-being. This study aims to examine how and if vibrations and noise during transportation impact certain physiological parameters of the infant (heart rate and breathing).

Abstract
This study aims to examine how and if vibrations and noise during transportation impact certain physiological parameters of the infant (heart rate and breathing).File | Dimensione | Formato | |
