The most important worldwide policy concerns nowadays are dealing with the socioeconomic effects of forced migration and the difficulties in reintegrating refugee populations. The wellbeing of every person on the planet depends critically on developing more effective mitigation and preventative measures by building on the lessons learnt from previous catastrophes. The socioeconomic integration of the Syrian refugees European countries host over 1 million Syrian asylum-seekers and refugees, with the 59% being hosted by Germany. This makes Germany the fifth largest host country globally, hosting over 1 million in total, of which over half (560,000) are Syrians will briefly be discussed in this research, with an emphasis on current policy, important lessons learnt, and future challenges. As well as, at the end of 2021, Italy hosted over 165,000 refugees and asylum-seekers. This included over 12,000 unaccompanied children in reception facilities. Italy has been an important destination being a border country and has a large influx of refugees from Syria. It was a temporary transit for Syrians. till 2015 almost 2.7% of Syrian refugees filed asylum applications in Italy. The study begins by providing a brief overview of the history and intricate political dynamics of the Syrian civil war.
