IL MATRIMONIO TRA CATTOLICI E MUSULMANI PROFILI DI INCOMPATIBILITÀ E POSSIBILI SOLUZIONI

The West, now more than ever, sees multiculturalism as a mean to measure the worth of its societies. Integrating the ever-growing presence of aliens of different cultures and believes stands as one of the main challenges of our time. In this sense, marriages between Catholics and Muslims represent the main and more sensitive symbol of this integration. That is because a society is nothing more than the reflection of the families it is made of and such families – as the Italian Constitution acknowledges – are natural societies founded on marriage. The object of this thesis will be to analyze such marriages both from a juridical-theological and statistical-sociological point of view.

L’occidente, oggi più che mai, misura il progresso delle sue società con il metro del multiculturalismo. Integrare nel tessuto delle moderne società occidentali la sempre crescente presenza di stranieri di fedi e culture diverse rappresenta una delle principali sfide del nostro tempo. In questo senso, i matrimoni tra cattolici e musulmani si presentano come il principale, e forse più problematico, simbolo di questa integrazione. Questo perché la società non è altro che lo specchio delle singole famiglie che la compongono e che, a loro volta, la Costituzione italiana riconosce come società naturali fondate sul matrimonio. Oggetto di questo elaborato sarà analizzare siffatte unioni tanto dal punto di vista giuridico-teologico quanto da quello statistico-sociologico.
